About this notice

This notice describes information used by Elderwall, our dragon-care game, and how to contact us about it. It applies to the game, not to unrelated photography or other services on this website.

The current beta works offline. Optional online accounts and friend connections are being tested and are not yet available. The sections below explain how those features will use information when they become available. This beta does not offer online world visits, chat, trading or cloud saves.

Your nursery and saves

Your Keeper, dragons, care history, progress, garden and in-game inventory are saved on your device. Local character and dragon names are separate from an online Keeper username. The account and friends features described below do not synchronize your nursery between devices.

If you choose to share a backup, your device's sharing interface lets you choose its destination. A cloud-storage or messaging service you select will handle that file under its own policies. Importing a backup reads the file you choose and asks for confirmation before replacing progress. The game's backup feature does not automatically send your file to Ledertsworld Studios. You may choose to send a backup or screenshot separately when asking for support.

Local nursery saves do not have an automatic expiry period. Copies you export remain in the locations you choose and must be managed there; deleting an online account does not erase those copies or your local nursery.

Reminders and game services

Optional care reminders are scheduled on your device as local notifications. They are not sent by an Elderwall push-notification server. You can change notification permission in your device settings.

Elderwall's own gameplay analytics and advertising services are disabled in this beta. Apple, Unity and other services you choose to use have their own data practices, described in their notices. Links to Unity's notices are below.

Optional accounts — when available

Connecting will be your choice. When online features are enabled and you tap Connect, the game uses Unity Player Accounts for account creation, sign-in and recovery, followed by Unity Gaming Services Authentication. The provider handles your sign-in credentials. Elderwall's account code does not ask for or log your password and does not read your email address from the provider.

Unity Player Accounts collects an email address for account creation and generates an account identifier. The online services use that identity, an Elderwall/Unity Authentication player identifier and session information to recognize your account and protect access. The SDK also caches session information on your device. Signing out clears the game's cached authentication session; it does not delete either account.

Keeper names and friends — when available

An online Keeper name is processed by Unity Cloud Code and Player Names. The server checks the name and provides a shareable username with a # number. Choose a fictional name, rather than personal contact information.

Unity Friends processes player identifiers and relationship records for requests, friendships and blocked players. Players with your complete username can send a request; names appear in the relevant request and friend lists. Lists refresh when you open or refresh the connected panel. This feature does not upload your phone address book or share your nursery save. Text chat, voice chat, background friend polling and presence subscriptions are not part of this implementation.

Technical information for optional services

Unity services process technical information for authentication, security, service operation and troubleshooting. Their documentation and installed SDK privacy declarations include IP addresses, account and installation identifiers, approximate location, contact or support information, usage information and crash information, depending on the service. Some provider usage information is used for analytics even though Elderwall's own gameplay analytics are disabled.

The game can display service account notices containing an account identifier, notice identifier, case reference, message and timestamp. Acknowledged notice identifiers are stored locally. The game's account error logger records an error type and code rather than sign-in credentials or provider credential payloads.

Online account choices and deletion — when available

You can stay offline. When accounts are enabled, the controls let you sign out, change your Keeper name, manage requests, remove friends and block players.

The Delete Elderwall online account control asks for confirmation. It removes the account's friend, request and block relationships, requests deletion of the Elderwall Authentication identity, and clears the account display and local notice acknowledgements. Your nursery stays on your device. This does not mean every related service log is erased immediately.

Your separate Unity Player Account may also be used by other games. Manage it at player-account.unity.com or request its deletion. Deleting that provider account is separate from deleting an integrated game's data. Unity Player Account privacy requests can be sent directly to unity-player-login-privacy@unity3d.com.

Unity maintains its own retention and data-request processes, described in the linked service notices. Elderwall does not set a single expiry period for all provider records, and in-app deletion does not itself submit a separate Cloud Code service-log deletion request. Contact tj@ledertsworld.com with questions about Elderwall account data or records you have sent to us. Do not include passwords, authentication tokens or recovery codes.

Contacting support

If you email tj@ledertsworld.com, the email address, message and any files you choose to include are available to Ledertsworld Studios to help with your request. You can use the same address to ask about the information you have sent to support, including how it is kept, access to it or its deletion.
